Realities of Everyday Life

America Needs God

In Psalm 33:12, the Bible says;

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance”

In the 60s and 70s, 96% of Americans believed in God. Today, that number is much smaller. We have seen mass destruction of property, mass theft and mass assaults on innocent people. We have seen the killings and shootings of police officers, as we have recently seen in Las Vegas and Santa Cruz, California. The Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputy, Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller, had a small child at home and his wife is pregnant with a second child. Both children are now without a father. Please pray for his wife and family. An environment of anti-police hatred took his life.
This atmosphere of hatred jeopardizes the lives of thousands of police officers and sheriffs deputies nationwide.

They are the thin blue line. While people sleep soundly in their beds at night, the police are out in the community dealing with the criminals who might hurt us all. The Bible says “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” in Matthew 5:9.

America can only be blessed again with the peace that is Jesus Christ if a majority of people ask the Holy Spirit into their hearts for guidance to live more like Jesus. Only then will peace come to the land.

Pray for every law-enforcement officer that God might protect them. Ask God to guide them in their actions. Ask God to change the hearts of those who would loot and steal and destroy. They are putting small business owners out of business at a time when those people are just trying to survive the coronavirus pandemic and its impact.
