More than 290 Christians in Sri Lanka were killed this Easter Sunday and more than 500 were injured, when Muslims set off a series of bombs. The death toll is expected to rise. It would be far better to be able to always report on the news of joy that is part of accepting Jesus.  Unfortunately, we live in a world where radical Islam is determined to snuff out the world’s Christian population.  Twenty-eight Christians, who were on their way to a monastery to pray were attacked and killed by Islamic fighters.  This follows large attacks in Egypt against Christians in the past six months. This article lists the seven leading persecutors of Christian people worldwide.  According to the article, “215 million believers face intimidation, prison—even death—for their faith.”  That is one out of every 12 Christians in the world.  This is not reported in the press.  It shows their disregard for the Christian community.

This happens every week across the Middle East and in Northern Africa and in places like Pakistan.  Innocent Christian people, losing their lives to people of intolerance. Christians face intolerance in America also, but it doesn’t result in a death sentence. It gets old having to report, time after time, that there are more Christians killed by Islamists. It is a global tragedy that this continues and few people are paying attention to it. If people killed others based on their race, it would clearly be labeled racism and there would be an international outcry.  There is nothing different about this, but politicians are silent and the world only pays it lip service.
