Thou Shalt Not Kill; tell a politician

One of the 10 Commandments is ignored by politicians in New York State, Vermont, Virginia and in the U.S. Senate. That commandment is “thou shalt not kill.” It is the basis of one of our most fundamental and important laws that prevents wanton murder and mayhem. But, politicians in several U.S. states and in our own Senate chambers have voted to kill newborn babies. It is a horrendous thing to consider that any politician would want to codify murder in American culture and make it law. That is exactly what they have done in three states already and then in the Senate. God does not look favorably on anyone who breaks one of His commandments, but He will be even more angry with those who allow this kind of brutal …

Why Good Friday?

Why do Christians call the Friday before Easter; Good Friday?  After all, it was the day that Christ hung on the cross. Before that, he was whipped and had a crown of thorns pressed into his head. He endured incredible pain. The fact that Jesus hung on that cross is what Good Friday commemorates. Before Christ appeared on earth, all humans risked permanent separation from God.  That meant that when a human died, they would face eternity separated from God and that is what is often referred to as hell. All humans sin and that sin displeases God.  We cannot continue to sin and expect to spend eternity with God; something Jesus referred to as “paradise.” Instead, what happened, is that God came to this earth in the form of …

Billy Graham’s Casket; a humble life

Several years ago, the Rev. Billy Graham was visiting Angola Prison in Louisina and heard that a group of prisoners, in a small carpentry shop, hand built the caskets for prisoners who died there. He was so impressed with the careful work they did, crafting each casket, that he got one for his wife Ruth and himself. Billy Graham lived a humble life for a man who was loved my millions and knew several U.S. presidents personally. He will be buried in a casket made by three prisoners who, themselves, realize the irony and symbolism. This short video is well worth watching.

March for Life

Today, President Donald Trump was the first president to speak live at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.  President’s Reagan and Bush had produced recorded messages for the event. This is one of the largest pro-life events in the world, speaking out against the horrors of the millions of abortions that are performed annually. Thank you President Trump for showing your dedication to ending the wholesale slaughter of those babies who have no voice. When the pro-abortion lobby talks about a woman’s right to choose, they should remember that the baby is never afforded that right.  The babies would always choose life.

News of Joy

The name of this website refers to the good news that Jesus Christ gives all humans a bridge to God. Despite our sin, we do not have to be condemned to eternity in hell, but we have the great opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven with God. In hell, we are separated from him. It is most fitting, this time of year, that we think of the true news of joy that came by way of a manger on that first Christmas and attracted the attention of distant shepherds and wise men. There appeared an angel who said; “Don’t be afraid!” “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” That joy is knowing that through this little baby, who later grew up and spread a …

More anti-Christian Sentiment during a time of Christian Love

A church in Oceanside, California learned that it doesn’t matter to its neighbors that Christmas is the time when we celebrate Jesus. The church put out a Nativity scene in front of it main entrance, but on its property. The local homeowner’s/civic association warned the church that the Nativity was on their common property and not on the church’s. The church asked the city to determine if the Nativity was on its property and the city determined that indeed, the Nativity was on the church’s property. It was too late though, as the home owners association, which had warned that it would physically remove the Nativity, did just that, throwing Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus on the ground behind the church’s stone entry monument retaining wall. In the process, they …

Please Pray for the Families of the Texas Church Victims

Please pray for God’s peace and comfort for the families of those killed at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Texas. Those people are most likely all saved and with Jesus at this moment, but the pain that the families feel, even with that knowledge, is intense and inconsolable. If you pray that God will help them escape from deep depression, it will help. Pray for the family of the shooter. They could not understand the depth of evil their family member possessed. The shooter was an Atheist who considered Christians “stupid,” according to those who knew him. There are 27 Christian people who have left this world and 19 more with injuries. Prayer is all that’s left.
