It is hard to find a pastor who will publicly discuss soul sleep, even though the concept is entirely Biblical. There was a time that I thought that Pastor David Jeramiah championed the concept, and in some of his sermons, it certainly sounds like it, but more recently, he seems to contradict earlier sermons.

Pastor Doug Batchelor does a very good job of explaining it in this video of a sermon in New York and he provides ample evidence from Scripture. This is a breath of fresh air to hear a pastor explaining that we simply sleep in death and wake at the Rapture. This sermon answers many questions and derives all of the answers directly from the Bible as it should be.
