You Must be Saved

What if I am right? A prayer that will change you

It might be helpful, to those of you who visit this site, to update it more than every two months.  You might be here looking for some inspiration or guidance. Maybe you’re already a born-again believer and you just like to read about Jesus. Maybe, you’re not sure what you think and you just want to see if anything on this site speaks to you.

What if there is a 2% chance that I AM right?
Non-believers or those of you reading this post who don’t really care about going to church or initiating a relationship with Jesus should know something. If you don’t believe that having a relationship with Christ is important and you think that people just die and that’s it, I have a suggestion for you.

If there is just a 2% chance that the people like me, who talk about Jesus are right, then you owe it to yourself to take just a minute to say a prayer.  After all, what do you have to lose? If I’m right that you need to accept Jesus into your life and you do, then no one else needs to know and you will someday return to your spiritual home- Heaven.  If you’re right and people just die and that’s it; well then, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

When I say “Heaven,” I mean eternity. I don’t mean spending eternity as if you were doing it on earth with concerns, worries, problems, pain, torment, sadness, distrust, jealousy and anger.  I mean eternity with joy and happiness and a calm you have never known. This is your spiritual home, not to be confused with the downsides of your earthly home.

In John 3:3, we learn something incredibly important when  Nicodemus asks Jesus some questions.

Jesus told Nicodemus  “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” In reply, Nicodemus wondered how an old person can be born again……..did they have to return to their mother’s womb?

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Then in verses 14 and 15, he continued:

“…so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.

Even Jesus Himself makes it clear that you have to be born-again to have eternal life.

How does a person become born-again?  It’s very easy.  Say the prayer in our About section or this one now:

Dear Lord God, I believe that you sent your Son Jesus to live a sinless life and then die for my sins. I believe that Jesus Christ is God. I confess that I have lived a life of sin and fallen short of Your glory. Please forgive me; I no longer want to be separated from You. I invite Jesus into my life to give me the direction that I need. I invite the Holy Spirit into my heart to do Your will from this day forward. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray this prayer AMEN

There you go.  If  I am right (and I am a thousand percent sure I am), then you have just taken the first and most important step to being a saved, born-again believer. You will notice a difference in your life, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it. Something will have changed.  Try your best to live a more “Christ-like” life from this point forward. If you died tomorrow, you would know that you will live for eternity in paradise.

  1. Kirk, I am really glad to see you have created this site and that you are open, clear, and direct about not only sharing your faith, but appealing to others to examine themselves and become absolutely certain that they have a home reserved for them in Heaven.

God intends for all to be saved, but not all will be saved, because many reject the truth that is in the Bible. It is all true, for God cannot lie, and the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

To anyone reading this: my friend, Kirk Douglas, whom I have not seen in decades, but we lived on the same street as we grew up, he is a man that cares about the eternal state of your soul, whether he knows you or not, and I feel the same way, whether I know you or not.

There is nothing whatsoever that is more important than living for the One who gave us life and breath, and He wants nothing more than a personal, intimate relationship with every one of us! We can, and should, come just as we are – You may have heard that old hymn that Baptists have sung during their “Altar Calls” down through the ages: “Just As I Am” – and that is precisely how God wants us to come to Him, just as we are, without a plea at all, only recognizing that we have a need – God – and that we can have a personal relationship with God by accepting His Only Begotten Son – the one who became a man, born of an ordinary woman, but in a most unusual way – yes, born from the womb, but not the seed of man, but conceived from the Holy Spirit of God – how often does THAT happen?

God wanted to live among us and show us Himself, His very nature, but many would not accept Him when He showed Himself as Jesus Christ. Yet Jesus Christ is the very way TO God, for He came to live among us, but even more, to die, not for anything that He had done, but to pay a ransom for the sins of all mankind.

The only thing that prevents the sin of any one person from being completely blotted out is the necessity of being written in “The Lamb’s Book of Life”. Your name can be written there by admitting that you have a need – you sin. I sin, you sin, we all sin, and the Bible makes this clear: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Why does this matter? “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:23).

Kirk has shown you many scriptures; I’ve shown you a few too. If you do not know for certain that you have a home reserved for you in Heaven, today is the Day of Salvation, now is the time! Don’t waste another minute! Cry out to God and ask Him to save you and He will – right away! If you make that decision, make sure to tell others about it. Tell someone else who needs to make that decision.

Make sure to read the Bible and check out all the scriptures that have been cited. There are many “translations” of the Bible – many in English, many in other languages as well. Every one, whether completely literally accurate or not, still manages to get through the fundamental truths that Kirk has shared and that I have mentioned here.

I don’t want to see anyone I know of or have any contact with not having the opportunity to make a decision – a lasting, eternal one. You will make one all right, one way or the other. Don’t make an ignorant or disastrous one by ignoring the importance of this decision. Choose Christ right now and choose life.
